A MOVIE A DAY: DAY 7

PRINCESS MONONOKE

Mononoke-hime

Demons. Gods. You’ve got it all. Initially it gave an Inuyasha feel but it didn’t last long. The main characters, the Prince guy as well as the female lead, the wolf Princess, were kind of vaguely portrayed. The God’s they show turn out to be mortals that are easily destroyed by gunfire (what a letdown… sigh…)

The best thing about this movie is ‘save the environment, take care of Mother Earth’ theme. Being a Go-Green person myself, I’m quite happy with this  ^_^ It’s an okay watch.. Simple and predictable. It’s got some blood and gore, but only a little. It didn’t leave much of a mark, just a confused fleeting feeling.

A MOVIE A DAY: DAY 6

THE GIRL WHO LEAPT THROUGH TIME

Toki o kakeru shôjo

It starts off with a slow and steady pace. But be patient, I assure you of the reward. Having the advantage of travelling through time takes a turn for worse as our little heroine see the implications of tampering with time. Seriously, they should make the title more obscure and not give away the whole plot in a single line.

The gentle yet budding romance does not make me happy. It made me feel “why the heck is she so stupid?” -_-** it does not become a heart racing story to watch until the latter half when the misfortunes and mistakes start to take effect. So wait till half the movie is over. Your patience, again I say, will bear fruit.

The ending, according to me, was very vague and its best if you don’t expect any lived-happily-ever-after moments.

Bottom line: I am Vision of Escaflowne reincarnate when it comes to endings! >.<

A MOVIE A DAY: DAY 5

PONYO ON THE CLIFF

Gake no ue no Ponyo

KAAAAAAAAAAAAWAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!

If you don’t go squealing like that while/after watching this movie, please remove yourself from the face of Earth and get sucked into a black hole. Oh, not that I mind if you get caught in a supernova explosion or tortured to death by aliens , anything that wipes your existence will do.. lol 😀

This movie is one -of- a- kind, treat-for-the-eyes, music-to -the -ears, massage-for-the-brain, therapy-for-the-soul, heart cuddling sweetness you will ever get to see in your life! EVER! ( this is, of course, subject to change if you show me something much cuter 😛 ) and the song that plays in the end credits will turn the meanest bad person into a honeybunch sugar plum pumpy umpy umpkin sweetie pie in a matter of minutes ^_^

Alright then, Prepare to pamper yourself with all the KAWAIINES in this world (and also popcorn) as you watch Ponyo on the cliff !!! ^_^

ENJOY!!!!!! 🙂 🙂
