Strawberry smoothie

PREPARATION TIME: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

METHOD:

Wash strawberries properly and remove the stems. Blend strawberries and little milk together in a blender until crushed properly into a smooth paste. If you don’t have a blender just use a mixer. Add the remaining milk, sugar and crushed ice. Blend again for another 30 seconds or so. Strawberry smoothie is ready! ^_^

I thought of giving measurements for the strawberries and milk but hey, put in how much ever you like as long as the final product tastes good. Tweak and Experiment! 🙂

Pepper Sweet Corn

They sold these steamed sweet corn in my college canteen and I’ve loved them ever since! Here’s how to make them.

PREPARATION TIME: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

METHOD:
WARNING:  Do not add salt to the water while cooking the corn as that will toughen the corn and it wont taste good.

Take required amount of water in a pan and start heating it on the stove. Clean the corn kernels like you clean all other vegetables. Put the kernels in the pan water on the stove. Let it boil for sometime. After 5 minutes take a kernel or two from the pan and munch on it. If its soft, then its ready to be taken off the stove.

Be careful while draining the hot water from the pan. I use this metal sieve to drain it. If you don’t have one then you can use a sieved ladle to take the corn out from the water or any other safe methods of your choice. Put the cooked corn in a cup and mix required amount of pepper and salt with it.  Pepper Sweet  Corn is ready to be served!

Cooking Ventures Of an Associate

I’ve started cooking. Yes, you have read it right. I cook. Not anything fancy but healthy stuff you can whip up in minutes and gorge upon before heading out for work early in the morning or take to work for lunch. I’m warning you again, these are extremely simple healthy dishes 😀 simple because I don’t have time for elaborate cooking and healthy because I’m looking forward to reducing a few pounds  🙂

The Rock

Today was a good day. The money was well spent and the satisfaction level exceeded our expectation. Yes, we had lunch at The Rock, a theme restaurant at Adyar. The theme, I don’t know how to put, was clearly not our typical forest. It was more like a jungle from ancient times. But the decors weren’t too ‘forest-y’ nor too plain. It was just the right mixture. You’ll have the forest ambience balanced by the feel of eating at a restaurant. Neat and tidy. Oh, there was also an aquarium and a waterfall; it’s an enjoyable experience dining there 🙂

The seating is pleasant with comfortable chairs and equally comfortable tables that are spread out well enough. The walls had a bunch of interesting things to look at like the dinosaur skulls and cavemen hunting scenes. You might want to touch the walls while on your way inside. They feel like actual rocks (don’t know if they are) and not like some painted cardboard cutouts decorating the wall. There are three things that I prioritize while looking for a good affordable restaurant.

  • Air conditioned
  • Kid friendly
  • Valet Parking

The Rock had them all.

The menu offered a variety of Thai, Oriental and Indian cuisines and here’s what we had.

Since we arrived at The Rock early and where the first to lunch today, we were given complimentary dishes. They were absolutely delicious though a bit more on the spicy side. The prices were quiet reasonable for the quantity and quality of food that was served to us. The Rock is a definite visit in the future for many more times to come ^_^
